About Pain & Spine
At Physiotas, we specialise in diagnosing, understanding, and treating complex pain conditions. Our expert team is committed to providing individualized care for patients dealing with a variety of chronic pain issues, including fibromyalgia, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), chronic musculoskeletal pain, and many more. Our clinicians are highly experienced in managing these challenging conditions, offering tailored treatments that aim to improve quality of life and restore function.
What to Expect at an Initial
During your initial consultation, our goal is to gain a thorough understanding of your pain experience and any contributing factors. This involves:
Detailed History Taking
Our clinicians will listen carefully as you share your story, exploring the nature of your pain, how long you've been experiencing it, and any triggers or patterns that you have noticed. As chronic pain is often complex and multifactorial, we will also consider other factors that might be affecting your pain, such as lifestyle, psychological aspects, and medical history.
Comprehensive Assessment
After gathering your history, we will conduct a detailed physical examination. This helps us pinpoint potential areas of concern and build a clearer picture of your pain presentation. Testing may include;
Range of motion assessment
-
Strength and flexibility
-
Special nerve tests
Collaborative Plan
Based on your individual needs, we will discuss a personalized treatment plan. We believe in empowering patients with the knowledge and tools to manage their condition in the long term. Common treatment options are often used in combination and include;
-
Physiotherapy manual techniques (mobilization, massage etc)
-
Education
-
Exercise therapy
-
Lifestyle modifications
-
Recommendations for other specialists if necessary.
