  • Exercise is one of the most common tools that your physiotherapist may use to help you achieve your goals. The exercises your physiotherapist chooses for you will be based on their expert knowledge of human anatomy and the beneficial effect of exercise on your body’s repair systems.

Just as a Doctor prescribes a particular dose of medicine, a physiotherapist will prescribe the right exercise program to get you moving better and feeling better.

  • Physiotas have specific physiotherapists that have undergone detailed extra training in dry needling for all types of musculoskeletal injuries. Dry Needling has been shown to decrease pain, increase movement in joints and helps to manage certain chronic conditions.

Dry Needling is rarely painful with most patients reporting the treatment to be quite relaxing. It can be used to help in the treatment of acute and chronic pain, neck pain, tension headaches, muscle tightness, shoulder and elbow pain.

  • Hydrotherapy provides a relaxing and supportive environment that enables people with pain, post-surgery conditions, arthritis and mobility issues, to participate in supervised physical activity and functional rehabilitation in the pool. Flotation and the subsequent increase in buoyancy often enhances the effectiveness of exercising the spine, hips, knees and feet.

The warmth and buoyancy of a water environment can be used to:

    Reduce pain
    Gradually progress weight bearing
Promote muscle relaxation Increase range, movement and flexibility
    Increase strength and endurance
Improve core stability and balance reactions

Before attending a hydrotherapy group, patients need to make an appointment so that one of our Physiotherapists can prepare a customised program to suit their condition.

  • We understand that not all patients are able to easily travel to our physical locations and this can make accessing physiotherapy services difficult. Physiotas offers a home visit service in which our physiotherapists are able to provide the same excellent care provided in the clinic in the comfort of your home. We are able to accurately assess and provide an appropriate and safe management plan tailored to you.

  • Headaches are often a by-product of muscle tightness and joint stiffness through the cervical (neck) area. This can be due to a multitude of factors; most commonly, headaches will be caused by; stress, jaw dysfunction, muscle tightness, workstation set-up (for office workers), postural issues, or injuries like whiplash. Our physiotherapists will use their experience to accurately identify the source of your headache or neck ache and treat it accordingly, along with giving you techniques you can use at home to keep headaches at bay.
